Can I connect any camera to any NVR
No. You need the right PTZ IP camera for it to work with NVR. Most modern cameras will work with NVR, and the main thing to look for is if the NVR supports Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP). Many experts recommend purchasing an NVR and IP camera from the same manufacturer for ease of support.
Should security cameras be on a separate network
When on a different network, cameras do not impact other systems on the main network. This further limits the user access to only those managing IP security within an organization, which are a subset of the overall number of employees. There are fewer passwords to protect and access points to monitor.

Can I use my security equipment with another company
Thankfully, this isn't the norm. But when considering a new security company, it's important to ask them ahead of time if they can monitor and service your current panel and connected equipment. Your new provider may have to install a new panel and keypad, but in many cases can use the rest of your existing equipment.
