What color for a small corridor?
Well, if your hallway is small and has no windows, go for a light or classic white color. It is better to avoid very dark tones as the latter will visually make your space even smaller than it actually is. The white color also has the power to make any space brighter. As you well know, most corridors do not have windows. It will not hurt to have white walls and bright, right?

What color for a large corridor?
In large colors you can almost afford everything. But be careful, stay moderate in the choice of colors, furniture and decor. You enjoy a lot of space of course, but that does not mean you have to put too much! If your hallway is really big, you can possibly give it two functions – entrance and small dressing, for example.
And the colors? The color depends on your desires and the use that you will make. If you want to separate it to two entities (entrance and dressing), it is possible to paint the walls in two different colors to visibly separate the two spaces. And if you prefer to melt it with the rest of the interior of your home, opt for the same color as the living room walls or for a similar shade.

You understand, the first question you have to answer before you start designing your space is: what color for a corridor?
Hallway furniture – functional and practical ideas for layout
You already know it, we at Designmag, we are fan of minimalist solutions. In each room, we are satisfied with the bare minimum of furniture to keep the functional space. When you have too many objects in one room, it quickly becomes cumbersome. Do not forget that the more furniture you have, the more maintenance you will need.
Color is not a piece in the true sense of the term. It is rather the extension of another room – living room, dining room or dressing room. There is no need to overload furniture. A shoe cabinet, an elegant dresser, a wooden bench or coat rack are more than enough to make your hallway a practical space.
As we have already mentioned, if the size of your corridor allows it, you can turn some of it into a dressing room.

What decor for my hallway?
In 2023, we go green. Green color (including blue) has always been at the top of everyone’s favorite colors. No room is an exception! You can integrate your colors in any room of the house without hesitation. In color, we introduce them rather as a decoration. You can decorate with frames, photos, small cushions, a carpet or plants. Here too, be moderate in the choice of corridor deco.

Stripes on the walls – is it a good idea for my hallway?
Who has never worn a striped suit? Introduced into high fashion by the French fashion designer Jean Paul-Gaultier, stripes have been dressing for a while now not only our bodies, but also our home interiors! If you hesitate between two colors for your hallway, the stripes are a modern understated. Do not forget their optical power: vertical or horizontal, the stripes enlarge or reduce the space.
We love the retro chic side of black and white stripes – a classic in fashion and interior design!

What lighting for my hallway?
If you are lucky enough to have a window in your color – all the better! It will be very easy for you to find the right lighting. A foot lamp or an elegant pendant light will do the trick. On the other hand, if you have no window in your hallway, you must first paint the walls in white and choose a good light or even put some.

Wallpaper for the walls of my hallway?
Is it a good idea to dress the walls of his hallway with wallpaper? If you want to do it – of course it’s a very good idea! The wallpaper will not only dress your walls beautifully, but it will introduce a beautiful decorative effect. Instead of decorating the walls of your hallway with frames or photos, why not opt for wallpaper? Choose a pattern that goes with the rest of the interior. We love the combination of wallpaper with animal motifs in duck blue and its contrast with the pastel yellow of the front door. Very sweet !

Plants – always a good idea for any room in the house
Imagine – you come home and the first thing you will see is a small (or big) green plant that blesses you with its freshness. The plants are a fabulous living decor. Here’s why we really do it everywhere. Good to know: if your corridor does not benefit from natural light, you can always put succulent plants. It is true that they are usually very resistant and do not require a lot of sun or a lot of water, but do not forget that they are living organisms. We advise you to place them in a place where they can enjoy natural light at least once a week.
