What can be called today’s contemporary interior style encompasses a range of styles developed in the second half of the 20th century. Arts Crafts is an American movement in the architecture of western North America. This movement gives birth to the Shaker contemporary design style. Shakers was a religious sect in England in the 1700s. Today they have left their traces in the interior design based on the idea of life in common. The Shakers believed in the simplicity of things, in the sharing of space and power. That’s why this interior design is characterized by its simplicity, lightness and lack of decoration. American architect Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the best-known architects to have contributed to the American Arts and Crafts movement.

The rococo style interior design style draws many of its features from the days when one lived in castles. The fabrics are luxurious such as silk, velvet, brocade.
