You do not need a big budget to build a wood kitchen for your toddler. Indeed, the kitchen furniture can be made of pallet wood, a plastic basin or an old wheelbarrow can play the role of sink. You can even place a pond in the hollow of an old tire on the ground to give it more character.

The pallet wood is easy to recover: you will surely find a multitude of pallets piled up in the markets. Once recovered, take care to remove some nails that may interfere. You can then start assembling your wooden kitchen.

When you have assembled, you can paint your new kitchen with your children. Let them choose the color palette. They even have the opportunity to have fun with ink stamps of different shapes and colors.

The above example is interesting because, unlike the others, do-it-yourselfers did not use a pallet but two tires as sinks and the fence of the garden to hang two rails of wooden suspensions.

When making a wooden children’s kitchen, consider the height of the worktop. It must, of course, be adapted to the height of a child. Also remember to provide plenty of storage space for all the creations of your toddlers but also so that they can store and hang their kitchen utensils.

Remember to properly equip the kitchen for your child. Just like you, they will need large bowls to mix all the ingredients they have found, service cutlery, pots and pans, buckets, watering cans, large wooden spoons …. And the list continues.

Of course, children’s imagination being what it is, they will find other ingredients to put in their mud soup. Why not go pick pine cones, collect shells and small pebbles that can be used in their culinary creations?

As noted above, storage space is crucial for both your comfort and that of your child. Nobody is a fan of big mess. If space allows, you can arrange the kitchen along your fence and fence and use it as a support for a shelf, some hooks or a rail suspension.

You can even build a dining area with a rustic dining table, logs as stools and a tray filled with soil. What happiness for the little ones!
