The garden hedge is dense linear planting of trees or shrubs often used to wrap or decorate the garden. Hedges are used in landscaped gardens to create a geometric shape at a determined space.

They need daily maintenance and are one of the ways to create a kind of fairly durable garden fence.

Like all types of plants, the garden hedge also absorbs some of the outside noises, enriches the air with oxygen and increases the humidity. Many of the kinds of plants used for hedges are very beautiful, such as the quince tree or hollyhock. Others remain green throughout the year such as boxwood or thuya. In colder areas planting is done in spring while in warmer regions – in autumns. Fertile soils are of course more suitable for hedgerows.

The Japanese quince tree is a plant with a size of 2.5m. Its leaves are dark green and last until the end of autumn. Its flowers are pale pink or dark red. Boxwood stays green all year long. It thrives well in dry, infertile soils but is sensitive to temperature. The most important condition for him is the humidity. The thuya is blooming late and needs sun.
