Corten steel is a self-patinated material with a forced surface. It is used for its resistance to climatic conditions. He is mainly present in construction and art in outdoor sculpture and architecture. The most famous sculptures are those of American artist Richard Serra, Spanish artist Eduardo Chillida and French sculptors Etienne Viard and Bernard Venet. The works of the two French can be seen in the garden of the Grenoble Museum. In the Île-de-France, in Fontenay-sous-Bois, on the Place Général-de-Gaulle, there is another sculpture, that of the Italian artist Marino Di Teana, entitled Freedom. Located in front of the Val de Fontenay train station, it is one of the largest Corten steel sculptures in Europe.
