Roche Bobois is a well-known French company, founded in the 1960s, which sells high-end furniture. She works with big names of designers and creators to offer an impressive design and quality.

In the 1950s, Philippe and François Roche opened a shop in Paris. Jean-Claude and Patrick Chouchan have their own shop Au Beau Bois in the French capital. In the 1960s, they met at the Copenhagen Salon. The idea is to stop making furniture and import Scandinavian furniture in Paris. Les Roche and Chouchan decided to add gift shops to their furniture stores to sell Scandinavian accessories. These shops are called “Complements of objects”: textiles, tableware, tapestry are sold. That’s when the Rochebois brand is born. Rochebobois in the beginning, Boboisroche after, they will succeed to the rhythm of two per year for nearly 50 years.

At the beginning of XXIe century there are two significant developments for Roche Bobois. International development with the establishment of stores around the world and the development of partnerships with designers, architects and designers who imagine and create furniture and objects for the brand. In the 1980s, great names of designers follow one another: Hans Hopfer, the Italian architect Luigi Gorgoni. In 2013, Roche Bobois has more than 250 stores in 46 countries. A dozen openings are coming.
