So be sure to use a rug that can be easily cleaned (wool is a good choice of material), a color or patterned enough to hide the inevitable stains in everyday life.

When adding a carpet to a room, do not completely cover the floor. Leave some of the floor exposed. Designers recommend leaving 20 to 30 cm away from baseboards, which is very easy to do, especially if you want to order a custom rug or carpet. An alternative approach is to determine the size of the carpet not in relation to the dimensions of the room, but according to the area covered by the furniture. The size of the rug actually should be a bit minor as the area where the furniture is arranged. New York designer Jennifer Duneier agrees and suggests that only the front legs of sofas or chairs be placed on the carpet.
