What are the Easter images you think about when it comes to this holiday? On the one hand Easter is the biggest and most important holiday for Christianity because it commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
On the other hand, it’s the party for children who love it for chocolate, its decoration, Easter games like fetching hidden eggs and for its festive and springtime atmosphere.

In any case, any party is important for children and for parents because of their children. It is true that children are gradually becoming the target of all producers of entertainment and toys because they are the real consumers of the product or the final service. Parents, in turn, are the ultimate consumers of the enjoyment of their children and therefore, indirectly, by themselves.

With time, however, what is good for children is only the most powerful, the most attractive, the most fashionable. Parents like to please their children, but when they go back, they ask themselves the question of what it is and ultimately good for their children. No longer like to play outside real games, no longer appreciate the artifacts of yesteryear, no longer want to make their own toys and prefer to buy them directly regardless of where they come from and how they are produced. All this is only a deplorable statement of which nothing can be done.

Or almost … little kids do not yet know all the pitfalls of big producers (who will one day but not immediately), love DIY and all that is worked by hand. They like to draw, paste, color, cut, invent, apply, guess, search, find, create, etc. They like to do it alone but especially with their moms, who know how to do everything!

The mother is a primordial figure in the manual work that the child loves to do in direct or indirect relation of any festival big or small, religious or secular. She is the one who will applaud and encourage her even if the result of the work is not perfect and does not really look like Mom’s. It is she who will be the destinatrice and the main amateur and fan. It’s still a real pleasure to create and work for someone who will appreciate everything with a good heart, or even downright adoring at the end.

Then, sharing the effort and getting rich with Mom’s ideas is informative, satisfying and enjoyable. Who better than she thought to put candles in empty eggshells? Maybe sometimes the teachers at school. They too are full of ideas. It’s their job but it’s especially their vocation, something that children know well because they understand it right away.

Deco ideas, there are plenty. Easter images are multiple. There can be no Easter without eggs, without rabbits, without chocolate, without chickens and the low court. Whether you are Catholic or Orthodox, whether you celebrate with one or the other, it does not matter, and even if Easter is not celebrated at the same time most of the time, the images of Easter are as diverse as the people celebrating.

Catholics look for chocolate eggs, Orthodox dyes real eggs they boil for about twenty minutes before dipping them in a dye after putting them in a piece of old stockings or old tights all by sticking a clover leaf or parsley (which you will take off later). Sometimes they even color on monochrome eggs.

Both traditions are fun and pretty at the end. An aluminum foil egg is as magically pretty as a colored egg. We all love to eat chocolate, while everyone does not like to eat real eggs. Do not eat an egg does not pose real problems because there will always be someone who will eat it for you. In any case, the real pleasure is to break someone else’s egg with his own.

The similar ends of the two eggs touch each other delicately or harder and the shell of one egg breaks, not both. In the end, the one who does not have his broken egg, is the one who has the egg “golden”. In Greece, it is said that he will be very happy throughout the year; in Bulgaria, it is said that he had the egg fighter.

Catholics, for their part, empty the eggs (as the Greeks elsewhere) but without going through the dyeing. They color them bright colors, spring colors and hang from a branch recalling a tree decorated. They make embalming their houses of the intense perfume by various flowers and in particular by graceful and multicolored tulips.

Plus, they bet more on the entertaining side of the tradition. They do everything to engage their children in the preparation and celebration of the holiday. For example, a child may like to participate in dyeing eggs, but he also likes to play outside with other children and look for eggs hidden in the garden … chocolate eggs.
