Initially, Dream Catcher is a mystical object whose purpose is to ward off evil spirits and thoughts during sleep. Native to India, it is made of natural materials that form a base circle and suspended feathers. The circle is woven from a cobweb-shaped thread and a stone in the middle whose motive is to catch bad dreams. And the good dreams, they allow themselves to infiltrate finally to move towards the feathers that will keep only the good dreams in the room. The legend says that bad dreams disappear at first sunrise.

So let’s start with the base of the dream cache
You would need a small hoop, usually made of wood. You can buy it or simply make it by picking up a small branch of wood whose ends you have to glue. Then, choose a rope of a color that you like. Take it and start wrapping it around the hoop very tightly so that it holds well afterwards. To hold it, glue the ends with glue or simply tie a knot.

Now comes the most clever part – the canvas. This can be woven in different ways. Some paintings are much more complicated than others. To make a dream catcher, choose a burlap or other weave to weave the hoop. To do this, knot one end of the string to the hoop and start working it from left to right, as in a clockwise direction. Make an octagon or hexagon while passing the rope around the ring. The goal is to form angles. Then, bring the other end of string around the last knot and start again with an octagon or hexagon. Continue this way until you reach the center of the hoop. At the end, tie well by forming a knot or using glue again.

Make a dream catch with ornaments – how to do it and what to add
Add some string or ribbons at the bottom of the hoop in a hanging fashion. Here you can choose between different materials, textures and colors. Do it so that you like it. Customize it your way. After all, the main idea of the DIY dream catcher is to put its own grain of salt and signature. Add at the end of the string feathers of one or more colors. You can also add beads or other accessories to your thread.

And it’s much simpler. Realize the hoop in the same way as a traditional dream catcher, but smaller. Then, pass the burlap wire forming a star. For this, simply pass the end string end opposite. Before that, you can add some small colored beads for a delicate and feminine touch. Finally, as in the classic dream cache, add small feathers to complete the whole thing.
