We have seen innumerable wooden sinks, with different shapes and designs, and most remain in the oval, rectangular, and so on. But few people can say, without seeing a faucet, looking at the pictures above that it is a wooden basin sink! This wooden sink was designed by designer Julia Kononenko. It is the city of London in wood that is the theme of this work for bathroom – or rather the central part of the city, which was the cradle of industrialization in the 18th century. A wooden basin in the form of a topographic map in which water flows through conduits such as riverbeds. Apparently the artist has used the modern technologies available, to have a cut of the wood, as exact and well finished. And that the necessary measures, so that the water flows and does not stagnate, are also taken into consideration. The wooden basin follows the pattern of streets in central London. The same technique can be applied to other cities. This choice is a tribute to England, as the site of the world’s first industrial production, in the 18th century. Indeed, industrialization took place in the United Kingdom in the 1770s. It all began with the launch of steam engines which, thanks to its power supply by the coal remedies the production of charcoal. It is a very rare piece, with an appropriate sculptural design, for a modern bathroom.
