In fact, the bathroom – the one we know today – has gone through many faces and modifications. It is during the period of antiquity that the art of the bath and public baths appear for the first time. The first baths were built at that time. They also had a social dating character: it was a public place where one could talk, discuss politics and play games. The design of the bathrooms of the time was endowed with beautiful mosaics. Bathtubs made of noble materials such as marble and silver decorated the space. It was the first steps in the bathroom design world. You certainly remember Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt. In the Middle Ages, this trend was a little off. He even had a period when in the aristocracy washing was not well known. In the eighteenth century, this belief eventually changed. From the mid-nineteenth century, the bathtub is reinvented in homes. Since it becomes an integral part of interior decoration, its aesthetic becomes more important. The first baths were made of metal, copper, sheet metal, zinc and cast iron. Some had enamel. At the end of the nineteenth century, marble, porcelain and ceramics are invited. These materials were quite expensive. It was only the wealthy classes who had bathrooms in their homes. The shower only appears later to replace the bathtubs. This accessory allows both to wash, but also to enjoy a relaxing massage.
